Th!nkArt, Chicago’s international art gallery and policy salon, presents the premier of Richard Hunt: A Force of Nature, works on paper and sculpture by the internationally renowned artist. Inspired by the artist’s works, A Force of Nature reveals Hunt’s own force of nature on the metal he fabricates and casts, mirroring his fascination with the transformation of one physical state to another and demonstrating the inherent relationship between human nature and Mother Nature. The phantasmagorical imagery Hunt welds demonstrates the raw power of his intellect fused with an intuitive, spirited understanding that brings together art, architectural, environmental, and historical associations while compelling us to examine what it means to be at one with our own surroundings.

A Force of Nature will run from Thursday, October 7th through Friday, December 10, 2010 at Th!nkArt Salon, 1530 N. Paulina Street in the Wicker Park gallery district in Chicago, Ill. Hunt’s exhibit debuts with a three-day opening vernissage on Thursday, October 7th, Friday, October 8th, and Saturday, October 9, 2010 and will be accompanied by related artistic and cultural events.

Internationally known for his abstract sculpture, Richard Hunt has created more public works since the start of his career in 1955 than any other living artist. Guided by an underlying spiritual influence, Hunt’s inexhaustible creativity and intellect are demonstrated by his continued labor and sheer volume of work.
