November 12 – December 31, 2009
Th!nkArt, Chicago’s international art gallery and policy salon, presents the premiere of War and Peace, new works by artists: David Gista (bio), Dave Sheehan and Todd Narbey (bio). This thought-provoking exhibition reflects on the oppositional forces of war, the universal desire for peace, and its inherent contradictions.
Inspired by the artist’s works, War and Peace, incites questions about the implications of the ambiguity between violence and solace, destruction and construction, play and aggression, innocence and cynicism.
War and Peace debuts with a two-day opening Vernissage on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13, 2009. Thursday night features a poetry reading by award winning poets Emily Calvo and Stella Vinitchi Radulescu. The exhibition runs until Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Th!nkArt Salon, 1530 N. Paulina Street, Suite F in the Wicker Park gallery district in Chicago, Ill.
Known contemporary artists, David Gista and Todd Narbey, will accompany the insightful, emerging artist, Dave Sheehan, for this stimulating exhibition featuring a combined total of more than 30 new works.
